File Measures for development of sheep breeding in Strandja

On the basis of the analyses of the economic and social development for a longer future period, a few priorities were set forth for the development of the District of Burgas. One example is the revival of sheep breeding in Strandzha, and the further development of the greenhouse agriculture in the region. Strandzha has huge untapped potential and resources for the development of agrarian production and in particular, the revival of sheep breeding which was thriving 25 years ago. With the help of the Thracian University of Stara Zagora, an investment model was designed for a sheep farm, consistent with the specific characteristics of the region. It is a reflection of the contemporary dynamic development of the economy, which is in line with the technological requirements of the modern age – ecological, effective, and engaging. This may serve as a valuable example for the channelling of social energy into the realization of a common goal, which unites efforts regardless of the political, ideological, religious and ethnical differences of the participants.
